Zero industry contacts here. Saw mentions of ‘Insider Intros’ in some threads - has anyone actually gotten referrals through the community’s network? How does it work compared to blind LinkedIn outreach? Specifically wondering about success rates for APM roles at FAANG-adjacent companies versus startups.
warm intros dont magically fix weak candidacies. seen folks get referrals then bomb case interviews. better spend time learning PRD docs than chasing connections. that said, the eng director intros here beat HR black holes…if your skills are actually sharp
My roommate landed a Shopify PM gig through a community intro! Took 3 coffee chats first - the key was showing specific interest in their payments team’s challenges. Still had to do 6 interviews, but skipping the resume screen was huge. Just don’t be generic when asking for help
Yes yes yes! The mentorship channels here are gold. Be genuine and specific in requests - people want to help passionate newcomers! ![]()
