Startup execution answers: how to steal build-measure-learn templates without sounding canned?

My startup PM interviews keep failing at execution questions. I use BML but get “too hypothetical” feedback. The community’s Series C+ templates look useful, but how do experienced PMs customize them? Need examples of tying metrics to specific launch phases – how did you make yours feel lived-in?

Total mood. I failed 3 mock pitches using BML until a founder told me: ‘Your learn phase better show blood.’ Now I add one stupid early mistake (‘we tracked DAU but ignored battery drain metrics – lost 30% users’). Suddenly interviewers lean in like ‘tell me more’ :person_shrugging::female_sign:

newsflash: every vc-backed PM recycles the same case studies. secret is to bury one legit failure metric upfront. ‘yes we hit mrr target but churn spiked 18% because [insert painfully specific tech debt].’ congrats, you’re now ‘outcome-focused’ instead of another framework parrot
