Prepping for consulting interviews and overwhelmed by KPI lists. The community’s ‘must-know ratios’ threads seem helpful – how do you prioritize what’s actually used by interviewers? Need contrast between retail (physical) and SaaS cases. What 3-5 metrics consistently come up in real interviews?
they’ll ask revenue/cohort stuff for SaaS and inventory turns for retail. everything else is just consulting wankery. memorize those two and wing the rest
made flash cards for 80 KPIs… help! how do i filter?
Focus hierarchy: For retail – GMROII, shrinkage rate, and sales per square foot. For SaaS – LTV:CAC ratio, gross margin retention, and payback period. 92% of cases I’ve coached used at least two from each category.
Got grilled on CAC payback in 3 straight SaaS cases after ignoring it. Now I always calculate it first – saved me during a recent Bain interview!
