Need advice from experienced professionals for upcoming interview

Hi everyone! I have an important interview scheduled for tomorrow and I’m feeling a bit nervous. I’m applying for three different programs and I’m not sure what to expect from the interview process.

My program preferences are:

  • First choice: Bachelor of Commerce in Investment Banking
  • Second choice: Bachelor of Commerce with ACCA
  • Third choice: Bachelor of Business Administration in Data Analytics

I’ve been preparing but I’m still unsure about the specific types of questions they might ask for these programs. Has anyone here been through similar interviews before? What should I focus on when preparing?

I would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions from people who have experience with these kinds of academic program interviews. Thanks in advance for your help!

Tomorrow’s the big day! Practice talking about why you love each program out loud - you’ll sound way more confident when you’re naturally excited about what you’re saying!

Been there with the pre-interview jitters! Prepare a few stories that work across different programs - times you analyzed data, worked in teams, or solved problems. Interviewers want concrete examples, not just “I’m passionate about finance.” Don’t stress about nailing every technical question. I fumbled several during mine but still got in because I showed genuine enthusiasm. Arrive early tomorrow - you’ll have time to calm down and get in the right headspace. You’ve got this!

just relax and be authentic. had similar interviews last year, they want to see your true interest. make sure you can explain your program choices since that’s a common question. also, stay updated on current finance and biz news, they might quiz that. you got this!

With such different program choices, interviewers will definitely ask about your decision-making and career goals. Don’t just explain your preferences—show you actually understand what each field involves day-to-day. For investment banking, expect questions about market dynamics and financial modeling. ACCA interviews often focus on regulatory frameworks and audit processes. Data analytics questions usually test your problem-solving approach and statistical thinking. What sets successful candidates apart? They clearly connect their academic background to their chosen path. Have specific examples ready—coursework, projects, or experiences that show your analytical skills and attention to detail. Think through how you’d handle not getting your first choice. Your backup plan shows maturity and adaptability. Most important: research what makes each program unique at that school and tie it to your career goals.
