Hello everyone! I’m now entering the second semester of my first year, and I’m starting to feel anxious about my career options. Math is not my strong suit, and while I found my introductory accounting course interesting, I’ve heard that the advanced classes are quite challenging. Many other majors seem to focus heavily on math, which worries me. I’ve also come across some opinions that suggest marketing and management majors are looked down upon, which adds to my uncertainty. However, I’ve been told that in consulting, the specific degree might not be crucial, and that they prefer candidates who are good at problem-solving. Is that really the case? I’m feeling conflicted about whether to pursue a more math-oriented major or if I have a chance at a consulting role with a less math-intensive degree. Have any of you succeeded in consulting without a background in finance or economics? I’d really appreciate your insights!
